Research interests involve the parasites and diseases of marine fishes and invertebrates. Of particular interest are microsporidian and helminth parasites especially with regard to the ecological factors that influence the distribution and prevalence of these organisms in estuarine and marine environments. Studies have focused on pleuronectid flatfishes, salmonids and crustaceans including Dungeness crabs.
