History of coho salmon listing status

Research Interests

Current projects:
1) Characterization of Oregon coastal coho salmon populations with putatively neutral microsatellites: data used to guide inferences of genetic structure and migration rates among populations

2) An analysis of the molecular evolution of olfactory receptor genes within and among salmonid species

3) Characterization of Oregon coastal coho salmon populations, from ecologically distinct stream systems, through olfactory receptor gene-linked markers.  Population genomics approach used to test for directional selection over loci.

General interests:
Population genomics, olfactory receptor genes, salmonid evolution, homing and straying behaviors, molecular evolution, neutral theory
