The Coastal Oregon Marine Experiment Station works with the seafood industry from pre-harvest through processing, supporting many critical aspects of their work.  The researchers at the Seafood Research and Education Center (SREC) in Astoria are responsible for COMES' work on post-harvest issues, including sensory testing, seafood handling and processing safety, and reducing seafood processing waste through innovative use of nutritional compounds.
