I'm working with Research Associate Dr. Kyle Newton in Dr. Taylor Chapple's Big Fish Lab to investigate how skates respond to electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Through understanding the skates’ potential navigational behaviors when exposed to different EMFs that simulate the Earth’s magnetic field in different areas, we hope to then understand how anthropogenic sources of EMFs such as underwater energy cables from offshore energy production affect those behaviors.
